MAY 08

May 2

Well May is here and this spring has be up and down. Fronts still pushing down from north with another coming in a few days. Water temps stay low 70's in the moring to upper 70's by afternoon. The water just wont break 80* and stay there. With weak tides last week after a major front and followed by a full moon the fishing is picking up. Today we took 20 snook and 3 reds with good action on live bait. We have had to locate snook daily as the wind and tides have been different everyday. Fish are really spread out. The fly fishing has been tough as they are not moving far for the fly. Water temps need to come up for a few days. Tarpon are here and with windy days we have not been able to fish for them. A week ago on the full moon they were eating well as we hooked 7 up to 150 lbs. Pompano are good on outside flats. Kingfish and bonita are good offshore with alot of sharks mixed in. Some permit showing up and calm weather will bring them back up. Stable weather next week should really improve the fishing as tides will be good all week.
Good Fishing...
