I have been tarpon fishing for a week and a half. We have taken tarpon everyday except for last friday as we tried fly. The fish are hold up in small groups and we had a front move thru last week pushing them down. The bite has picked up and the Islands holding a few fish. The beach fishing has been hit or miss. Today I had a group from Naples and all three anglers took tarpon with the largest pushing 200lbs and may have been over. It is one of the largest I have had to the boat. The snook fishing has been red hot with fish all over the bait that has hit the Islands and beaches. The fish are rolling thru the bait is large groups. Redfish have been fair with a few fish near the outside and best on the higher tides. Makeral are all over the outside and sharks are right behind. Big mangrove snapper have also invaded the islands and great for the table. The water temps have heated up and the day temps have hit the 90's. Hot weather means hot fishing in south florida. Get out and try it while it is good! Good Fishing... Capt Robert Walczak Select another page || Go to Home Page |
