AUGUST 08 REPORTS

August 21

With great fishing prior to tropical storm Fay the conditions have become a little harder. It has rained for near a week with winds between 15-25 everyday. Prior to the blow the snook bite was awesome. We took 58 in a 6 hour trip. The snook have been the best with 20-50 a day. Redfish are fair but will improve as the fall approaches. Tarpon are good and seem to be both in the backcountry and outside. Average fish are 20-80 lbs. The water should clear as soon as the rain lets up. With a note that Capt Aron and myself took 1st place in the Hooters redfish for the Calusa Backcountry tournament with 11.5 lbs. Weather conditions should go back to normal patterns next week and so should the fishing.
Good Fishing...
