What a up and down weather pattern we have had. We have had freezing temps to the mid 80's in the last few weeks. Most of the fish moved deep on the cold fronts with some fish moving shallow again. We have been catching snook shallow the last few days as the day temps have warmed the water to the low 70's. I have found the best ation on the lower tides for the snook and near deeper water. The redfish have been fair and the outside the best. The trout bite has been very good south in cleaner water on jigs in 5-10 feet of water. I fished Estero Bay yesterday and took 2 limits of trout in a half a hour. Some pompano on the outside on jigs with the incoming tide the best. I did find some tarpon a day ago with them being active for around a hour. We are to get another cold front this weekend that has expected day highs of the mid 60's. The water temps will drop again so I expect the fish to drop deep again. Good Fishing... Capt Robert Walczak Select another page || Go to Home Page |
