May 9

It has been a busy fishing season and I have been a little slow on the reports. The fishing has been with the weather improving. We have had alot of wind for the last month which has slowed the fly fishing limiting our spots. The snook bite has been great with snook both on the outside and in the back bays. Water temps have hit the low 80's. Spin has been the best with snook to 35 inhs this last week. Redfish have been fair at best. I have been taking a few a week up to 28 inchs. Trout have also been fair with most fish on the outside. I did catch one in the back in a foot of water yesterday with a redfish and snook in the same spot. Tarpon have been very spotty. Some fish in the inside and some outside. Wind has really made it tough for them. Not alot of fish caught this spring. I have been getting a few a week but not like it should be. Some fish on the beaches but not eating. Reports this week of a few tarpon already at Sanibel but no hook-ups. I have been on some MONSTER jacks with a fish almost everycast to 15 lbs. They have invaded the islands as bait have moved inshore. Shark fishing has been great with bull and blacktip sharks all over the islands. I have been hooking fish to 200 lbs. Hot weather and hot fishing and looking forward to our late spring and summer fishing...
Good Fishing...
