MARCH 2010

March 2

What a crazy winter we have had in South Florida. Cold fronts every week and water temps still in the low 60's. Night temps in the 40's and high in the 60's. Over all the fishing has been good. We are still in winter fishing mode with trout being the best bet. Lots of trout with both spin and fly being good. Some redfish on the outside with jigs being best. Sight fishing them in the back on low water periods offering multiple shots at fish. I have been doing some night fly trips for snook with good action and taking up to 15 snook in 4 hours. Some pompano showed up this week but a front moving in today mave move them again. I had a group frm HP this past week and they took 5 jacks from 11-14 lbs on jigs. There are very few tarpon around yet but may change in the next week as we are to get some warmer weather. If you can get offshore big sheepshead on the rock piles. I expect bonita and kingfish to show up soon. Bait should start to move in the Islands and get the fish fired up.
Good fishing...
