Well it has been warm but the fishing has been great. We have had some calm days and the mid day falling tide has had permit and tarpon sunning on the surface near shore. The wind has picked up the last few days and we have not looked for those fish but have found tarpon in the Islands. I had the Ekles group yesterday and while snook fishing with jigs we hooked a 50 lb poon that threw the hook after a few jumps. Big tarpon have hit the Islands and we have had the best luck on cut bait near the rolling fish. The snook bite has been good near the passes and both live and artifical has been good. Trout fishing has been great as lots of glass minnows are in and the fish are staying near them. Redfish are fair and we took 2 and lost 4 during a redfish tourney last week. Most reds were oversized and jigs were the best. Lots of bull sharks and lemon sharks are in the Islands and a blast on lighter tackle. I expect the fishing to get even better as the small baitfish continue to move in. Good Fishing... Capt Robert Walczak Select another page || Go to Home Page |
